Lucy Rutter is one of the best potters we've come across. From her Faversham studio in Kent, she creates simply beautiful tableware. Drawing on the material of clay as a form of creative language, Lucy allows the rich colouring and rugged elements of the raw stuff to seep through her glazes. Her work is earthy and slow, giving you a sense of place and a chance to take your time when using her pottery. Lucy has been working quietly and confidently for a good many years, honing her craft and gently forming a strong ceramic practice.
These Faversham Teapots are an every day staple. They have a striking form and are the perfect size for a few cups of tea over a good chat. We love the arch of the cane handle, it feels great to pour. The lid design is one of our favourite parts as it seamlessly sits on the pot, adding to the simplicity of this piece. It would look amazing in almost any situation, from contemporary kitchen to old cottage.
