'Nightjars' Midnight Blue

90.00

Down a winding Dorset lane, over a steep Dorset hill and past a number of crumbling Dorset cottages you will find Bonfield Block Printers. Tradition runs through the heart of Bonfield, working in old block printing methods embedding rural folklore into their imagery. Tales of the land, the folk that worked it and the stories that have been left behind. Cameron Short and Janet Tristram work out a beautiful shop that they saved from developers, adding very little but restoring plenty. Bonfield Prints are a nod to a time gone past, yet they embody a relevance today that we think is vital as our countryside faces seemingly unstoppable changes.

The ethereal 'Nightjars' tells the story of a midsummer night. An old lantern hangs in a hawthorn tree; moths congregate around it, hypnotised by the radiating light.  Out of the shadows swoops a 'churring' nightjar, eager to feed.

A square, hand block-printed cushion in 'Midnight blue' on high quality Russian linen. Backed in a natural jute hemp with raw edging. Block-printed maker's label. Cushion pad (inside) is 100% cotton and filled with duck feathers.
