Leighan Thomas is a contemporary potter based in Oxfordshire. Her approach to making reflects her tastes in quietly muted, simply functional pieces. An exploration into clay makes Leighan's work ever playful with a grown up aesthetic. Raw earthiness meets smooth lively glazes in an amalgamation of process and ideas.
This Textured Vessel has a raw charcoal finish, as if Leighan has sculpted it from rock. The subtle cracking in the surface reminds us of earth when it dries out in the summer sun. An extremely tactile pot that could be used for multiple functions. However we'd just leave it in a prime spot and let it live as it is.
