Whinblossom is the ceramic studio of Chloé Rosetta Bell. Based between her home on the Isle of Wight and London where she is completing an MA in Ceramic & Glass at the Royal College of Art, Chloé creates beautiful pots that explore her relationship to the landscape. Digging up minerals from the under cliff of the landslip found on the IOW, she will mix these into the clay and glaze to form an embodiment of process & place. The work is timeless with it's distinct sense of history in the materials being contrasted by a contemporary eye for simplicity & form.
These Undercliff Dishes are rugged, earthy and alive. They flow in colour between browns, greens and greys, with a hint of blush pink in places. Functionally they could be used for dips or to hold valuable items. However we'd display it for all to see and have it close to had to pick up and feel the tactile surface regularly.
These pieces hold extreme textures, evidence of the firing process.
