Leighan Thomas is a contemporary potter based in Oxfordshire. Her approach to making reflects her tastes in quietly muted, simply functional pieces. An exploration into clay makes Leighan's work ever playful with a grown up aesthetic. Raw earthiness meets smooth lively glazes in an amalgamation of process and ideas.
This is a Bowl with two stories. The interior is a soft smooth white glaze, while the exterior of the piece runs almost painterly between brown, blue & graphite. The underside reminds us of a throwback to 70's pottery with glazes bleeding into one another, whereas the interior is contemporary as contemporary can be. We love the contrasting stories of this piece. Perfect for displaying as a sculptural object or holding precious belongings.
