Wild Lane Basket

86.00

Claire Kinsella uses locally foraged willow along with her own grown crops to create her utterly wonderful baskets. Traditional in every way yet there seems to prevail a modern look to her work. Curved edges meet straight lines, the rustic material is weaved into contemporary forms. Claire has a skilled that comes naturally to her, from the basketry process itself right through to her keen eye for spotting hedgerow gems to incorporate into each piece.

Woven in North Somerset this Wild Lane Basket has a lovely form and patterning. Using foraged willow from the lanes around Claire's village, the basket has a contrast between a rich red with honey brown to form the stripe running across this piece. The added beading brings a folk element to the piece that we adore. Functional and beautiful, this basket can be used every day from shopping to displaying.

The rose wood handle is perfect in it's sculptural form.
