Wood Fired Bowl

35.00

Rebecca Proctor is a ceramicist based in North Cornwall. Her work adopts a soft muted palette that reminds us of pale rocks found on the shoreline. The fact that she uses locally sourced clay adds to that sense of place in her pottery. Subtle facets or speckled glazing makes Rebecca's work intriguing and ever satisfying to use.

The greys and greens found in the glaze of these pieces could almost reflect the winter sea around the North Cornish coast. Wood Fired at Kigbeare, Svend Bayer's anagama kiln, these bowls are left to fire for 5 days and nights. The results are outstanding and clearly very special with a rich toasted raw clay underside and subtle crackling in the thickly glazed topside. Very beautiful bowls.
