Pottery Brushstroke Beaker

Jack Welbourne is a Cardiff based potter with a really good eye for ceramic design. His practice is rooted in traditional studio pottery, yet he manages to bring a contemporary flair to his work. The crackle ash glazes and reduction firing of his pots give a nod to a strong lineage of British ceramicists, yet the playful brushstrokes and confident forms add a look that would sit happily in any home today.

Jack was awarded the Midgley Green Showcase Award at Bovey Tracey Craft Festival 2019. We had never come across Jacks work before, so it was a real pleasure to be taken by surprise when we first saw it. As soon as we did come across his pots we knew immediately that Jack deserved the Showcase Award.

These beautiful Brushstroke Beakers are so good looking. They are full of character, charisma and charm. We adore the the free flowing Brushstroke crossing across the glaze and clay surfaces . A lovely size for a proper cuppa. Finished in Jacks Ash Glaze, the gorgeous green grey colouring sits really well in almost any kitchen.
