Nick Membery is one of the most inspiring potters that we’ve come across. Spending a few minutes with Nick you’ll quickly realise his deep knowledge of pottery is something to behold. And so it should be, he spent decades making his distinctive kitchenware which sold successfully for years and years. In 2019 though he decided he didn’t want to make the same pottery over and over again, so he daringly built a wood kiln, redesigned his work and allowed the firing process to impact the pots as much as his own hands. He left the safety of his well established pottery to depart on a new obsession with wood firing. These pots hold so much more than just their function.

Woodfired and reduction fired mugs. The glaze is a deep grey/blue celadon, featuring crackles and the odd iron speckles. The mugs make a fantastic collection of pottery together or as a single piece to use everyday. Tall and slim, if you prefer drinking from a thinner lip then you’ll love these mugs. The best thing is that they’ll hold a good sized cuppa for those of you, like us, that need a proper sized brew.
