Kingston Basket

Claire Kinsella uses locally foraged willow along with her own grown crops to create her utterly wonderful baskets. Traditional in every way yet there seems to prevail a modern look to her work. Curved edges meet straight lines, the rustic material is weaved into contemporary forms. Claire has a skill that comes naturally to her, from the basketry process itself right through to her keen eye for spotting hedgerow gems to incorporate into each piece.

This basket is one of my favourite basket shapes, a sculptural tulip shaped baskets, foraged locally to us by Claire. This one is made with a two tone Willow and a hooped foraged handle. Would look wonderful on display in the home.
