Bulrush Smoked Sculpture

200.00

You could be forgiven for thinking these hand built ceramics were made from stone. Sculpted by Kat Evans on the edge of the Peak District, these pebble smooth forms are created in clay and smoked with foraged combustibles. Kat's work reminds us of postwar sculptors like Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore. They have a strong sense of landscape and natural textures yet they also appear ambiguous and abstracted.

This piece was smoked with the seeds of a bulrush. Stark in contrasts from dappled dark tones to milky expanses. We adore the ambiguity in how you can display this piece, it is open to be flipped & turned however you wish. A truly beautiful piece of ceramic with a gorgeous depth to it.
