Mark Reddy is a craftsman based in Somerset. Starting with metal sculpting he has come to working with wood for its natural and ancient qualities. Marks woodwork has a sense of history to it, each piece could quite easily of been made hundreds, if not thousands of years ago. The primitive in his practice stretches right through to the native timbers that he uses, often foraging windfall from around the hedgerows of his Somerset home.  

This Hazel Spoon has a live edge where the bark is allowed to form part of the piece itself. The milkiness of the hazel wood contrasts perfectly with the rough texture of the trees outer surface. We adore the unusual length of this spoon, it is intriguing to look at, hold and use.
