Claire Kinsella uses locally foraged willow along with her own grown crops to create her utterly wonderful baskets. Traditional in every way yet there seems to prevail a modern look to her work. Curved edges meet straight lines, the rustic material is weaved into contemporary forms. Claire has a skilled that comes naturally to her, from the basketry process itself right through to her keen eye for spotting hedgerow gems to incorporate into each piece. 

Woven in North Somerset this Seymour Handled Basket has a lovely form and patterning. Using a variety of willows, Claire has contrasted a rich brown with a deep red to form an undulating surface. The handle itself is a lovely shot of colour arching over the basket. Functional and beautiful, this can be used every day from shopping to displaying.
