Moon Jar
Moon Jar
Jacob Bodilly is a character that could not be replaced. His utter devotion to ceramics has lead him from running a studio in the deepest depths of Cornwall on to his new place in the rolling hills of Somerset. Jacob lives and breaths the making process, often overly critical of any work that doesn't meet his exacting standards when it is pulled from the kiln. Every detail is important in his pottery, from the lip of a piece to it's bottom.
Traditionally Moon Jars were made as celebration pieces for a full moon, the milky glaze reminiscing the glow in the night sky. They are difficult to get right and take a real skill to perfect. Jacob has produced a truly one-off example of a Moon Jar that we absolutely adore. The celadon glaze stands proud yet humble, there is no arrogance or brashness here. A mellow glow that should be kept forever.
