These open Vases are a one-off pairing made for Midgley Green by Elisabeth Barry. Unique with their mirror black glazed interiors and diamond polished porcelain exteriors. We asked Elisabeth to create a range that is larger and more challenging in comparison to her smaller works which are created in her studio based outside of Bath. 

We fell in love with Elisabeth’s work at first sight; the polished porcelain that runs throughout her practice is truly beautiful. The finish is so soft and smooth you want to keep touching it, which is exactly what Elisabeth wants. She wants her work to be held, touched and most importantly, used.

We thought these Vases worked so well together we couldn't bare to split them up. The conversation between the two forms is intriguing; the way they sit together calmly through their design but still striking with their contrasting interior glaze. The Vases are contemplative and relaxing to look at, however they take on a wholly different experience when you pick them up and hold them. The touch and finish is in our eyes perfect, like the softest of stone that could of been polished by the elements over thousands of years. Elisabeth strives for balance; a balance between beauty and purpose, aesthetic and function & art and design.

This pair will sing at the top of their lungs in any environment.
