Made as a small series by Elisabeth Barry, these Smooth Vases are thrown in direct conversation to her textural pieces. Created with porcelain clay, Elisabeth diamond polishes the exterior for a soft pebble-like surface. The purity of the white porcelain is broken by the glimpse of the contrasting black interior glaze.

Over the last year we have asked Elisabeth to break from her normal mode of practice to produce ceramics that challenge her way of making. We asked Elisabeth whether she would attempt to throw larger forms, in comparison to her smaller work. 

We adore these pieces with their confident necks shooting up from the rounded base. They are designed to display a select bunch of clippings or hedgerow finds. Although the Vases are just a striking as sculptural pieces placed accordingly to be admired.
